What I mean by very large?

The focus is not only on the size. There are many large tents on the market and it would be easy to make such a list by simply collecting them by size. I did my best to include very different tents regarding the general shape and materials. This also means that here you have tents for various seasons.

1. Tahoe Gear Gateway 10 to 12 Person Deluxe Cabin Family Camping Tent
This tent is with an L-shaped base, and it can be described as a tunnel type. It has 2 doors and they are visible in the picture, plus 7 separate windows. So this is a pleasant 2-room construction with a sewn-in divider between the rooms and an inner zippered door. The tent is also very tall, you have 84 inches (213 cm) peak height.
The fabric is a durable 70D/190T polyester with a 1200 mm waterproof rating. Note that the fly features a solar shield that reflects sunlight for a cooler atmosphere in the tent. On the floor you have a strong and fully waterproof 120 g/m² polyethylene. The tent is supported by 5 shock-corded fiberglass poles that attach at the base with standard pin and ring connection system.
You also have a floor vent and 2 E-cable ports. The official capacity is 12 people and the tent offers an area of around 215 ft² (20 m²). The weight is 39.6 lb (18 kg) and its overall dimensions are 236 x 213 inches (600 x 541 cm). The packed size is very good 29.6 x 13.7 x 9.7 inches (75 x 35 x 25 cm).

2. Ozark Trail Base Camp 14-Person Cabin Tent
This tent is unique on the market regarding its shape. It can be described as a cabin-style tent so the walls are straight and tall, but the unique feature is its cross-shaped base.
You have 4 rooms here with sewn-in true dividers. This is why it is also in my list of best 4 room family camping tents. Three rooms are equal size, while the fourth is a central living room that is twice the size of the other rooms.
Note that each of the rooms has its own door, and they also have inner doors for connection with the living room. As you realize from the picture, large windows are on all sides, you have them 12 in total. So the tent offers more privacy than any other known to me, the rooms are physically separated from each other in the three parts of its cross-structure.
The tent is officially for 14 people and it offers 222 ft² (20.6 m²). The peak height is 78 inches (198 cm). This is a boxy and large structure, best suited for summer camping and for quiet weather conditions. You have an electric cable port. Note that the tent is very affordable.
The weight is 47.96 lb (21.8 kg), and its overall dimensions are 20 x 20 ft (6 x 6 m). The packed size is indeed very good (L x D) 28.5 x 13.75 inches (72 x 35 cm).

3. Guide Gear Teepee Tent 18 x 18
Here you have a teepee-shaped tent with a huge base that is 18 feet (549 cm) in diameter. So the floor area is more than 230 ft² (21 m²). The tent is a modern version of a classic teepee, and this means a single-pole structure with 4 solid windows and 5 vents. In spite of such size, one person can set this tent up in 5 minutes.
The tent is officially for 10 – 12 people, the floor is large enough for such a number of users, but the walls are angled as typical for this type, so the inner volume is not so great. It is very tall in the center where you have 118 inches (300 cm) peak height.
The tent is surprisingly light for its size, it weighs 23.15 lb (10.5 kg). It packs into its carry bag that measures 32.3 x 10.2 x 9.8 inches (82 x 26 x 25 cm).
As for the materials, the mentioned pole is steel, and the tent body is polyester with a 1000 mm waterproof rating. The floor is thick and waterproof polyethylene. You will want to know also that this is a very affordable tent. It is included also in my list of best 12 person family camping tents.

4. Crua Loj 6 Person Tent
This is one of the most impressive tents on the market, so naturally, it is included in several of my lists here in the site. You will see it among the tents for 4 seasons, among heavy-duty canvas camping tents, and in several more. Formally, I would put it in the group of tunnel-shaped tents.
It is officially for 6 people only, but it offers an inner area of 235 ft² (22 m²), and in addition to this you also have a porch that adds 65 ft² (6 m²). The porch is floorless, so you can use it for cooking and for sitting in your camping chairs.
There are 3 rooms. This includes an inner sleeping area which is an insulated tent within the shell tent. Here you have an effective R-value of 4. The sleeping area is a dark rest zone, it is completely dark inside even in the broad daylight. The tent provides a bit of sound insulation too. In front of this insulated cocoon you have a huge and floored living room. The tent has 3 external doors and 2 inner doors.
The frame is steel and the fabric is special, it is breathable, and this is a laminated poly-cotton 80/20. Note that the tent comes with a footprint included and with an insulated carpet. There are 6 solid PVC windows. The tent allows for an awning configuration shown in the picture. They claim it can handle winds of over 60 MPH.
However, this is a heavy structure, the weight is 218 lb (99 kg). The dimensions (L x W) are 277 x 158 inches (700 x 400 cm). The tent is also very tall, the inner peak height is 83 inches (211 cm).
What I like:

5. Ozark Trail 20 Person Tent
I have decided to show this tent without the fly so that you can see its impressive structure which is Y-shaped at the base. But it has a fly that covers its ceiling.
This is a mix of a cabin and a tunnel type tent with the dimensions of 25 x 21.5 feet, and an area of 280 ft² (26 m²). This space is separated into 4 rooms. Although the tent is huge it is very easy to setup.
It offers 3 entrances and 8 windows. The peak height is 83 inches (211 cm) in the central dome area visible in the picture. This central room under the dome is a hexagon. The tent weighs 49.7 lb (22.54 kg) and its packed size is 28 x 14.25 x 14.25 inches (71 x 36 x 36 cm).
Other features include a media pocket, 2 gear hammocks, 4 bottle holder pockets, 4 large storage pockets, and an E-port for a power cable. The poles are a combination of steel and fiberglass.
What I like:
- 4 Great rooms.
- Multiple doors.
- Great packed size.
What I dislike:
- The weight.
- No floor vents.
Final thoughts
So you have seen them all and you realize these are indeed all very large camping tents, and this is their common feature. But there are big differences in prices, weight, materials, and packed size. Even if you are on a tight budget, you have some reasonable options here.
