1. Coleman 4 Person Cabin Camping Tent with Screen Room

This tent is the smaller in the series that includes also a 6-person tent. This is one of those tents where the screen room is fully protected under the fly. So this makes it a true 2-room structure. The point is that you can roll up the fly and enjoy the views while being protected from insects.

They have chosen an awkward name used in the title here, this is certainly not a cabin tent but the word Cabin in the title is the official part of its name. In fact, this is a nicely built tunnel tent.

Apart from the mentioned screen room, the tent offers three panoramic windows and one large door, and you also have an e-cable port. The inner area is around 64 ft² (6 m²) but the total area with the screen room included is around 88 ft² (8.2 m²). You also have some space under the vestibule.

Here are some numbers. The tent weighs 23 lb (10.4 kg). The peak height is 6 ft (183 cm), and the packed size (L x D) is very good 26 x 10.5 inches (66 x 27 cm).

As for the materials, there are 4 poles and this is fiberglass. The fabric is their WeatherTec polyester with inverted seams as in all their tents. The floor seems to be polyethylene.

What I like:

What I dislike:

• Heavy.

2. Coleman Carlsbad 6 Person Tent

This Coleman Carlsbad 6 Person Tent is one of their most popular. It is here because of its screen room that can be also described as a screened porch. Namely, this part of the tent is with the floor but it is not fully sealed. The screen is without panels and you have only partial coverage.

This is also one of the best dark-rest tents on the market. They claim that it blocks 98% of sunlight. The material is reflective from the outside so they also claim that the heat is reduced by up to 11%. This is why it is also in my list of best dark rest tents.

The tent is dome-style and it is with what they call the fast pitch design. The meaning is that the shock-corded poles are pre-attached to the hub element on the top. Another detail in this design is the attachment of the poles in the corners where you have short tubes and you place the end of a pole inside.

The official capacity is 6 people, and you have a total area of 140 ft² (13 m²). The floored dark-rest inner area is 10 x 9 ft (3.05 x 2.74 m). So you have 8.36 + 4.64 m² in the two rooms. The peak height is 68 inches (173 cm), and the packed size is 26 x 11 x 11 inches (66 x 28 x 28 cm). The weight is 22 lb (9.98 kg).

Regarding the materials, the fly is a polyester taffeta 75D but they did not provide info about waterproofness rating. The floor is durable with the bathtub design and with patented corner welds. They use inverted seams design which they call the WeatherTec system with Polyguard fabric. The poles are fiberglass.

3. Wenzel Klondike 8 Person Tent

This Wenzel Klondike 8 person tent is one of the best-known tents with a screen room. It has been on the market for many years and there are thousands of reports about it around.

You have a cabin-style tent here with two rooms, and one of them is the screen room. This is a large family camping tent and the total area is 158 square feet (14.7 m²).

Note that the screen room is fully sealed and floored, so this is just a room with extra comfort due to its screens. When it is raining, you can fully close its panels and gave complete protection and privacy. There is a divider wall between the two rooms with a circular zippered door. But the wall is fully sewn-in so this is not just a curtain.

The ceiling in the main room is supported by X-crossed poles, and the front screen room’s support is with a loop. You have fiberglass on the roof and steel is used for the leg poles.

The rooms are of different sizes, so it is possible to put 5 sleeping pads on the floor of the back room and 3 more in the screen room. The external door is in the screen room and you can see it in the picture above.

There is lots of mesh around so the tent is nicely ventilated. But they have added also a floor vent in the rear room. The structure is not freestanding and you will need around 20 minutes to set up this tent.

Here are some numbers. The weight is 27.3 lb (12.4 kg), the area is 98 ft² + 60 ft² (9.1 + 5.6 m²), the peak height is 78 inches (198 cm), and the packed size is (L x D) 36 x 16 inches (91 x 41 cm). 4. Ozark Trail 9 Person 2 Room Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room

This Ozark Trail 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent with Bonus Screen Room has two inner rooms plus the screen room. So to say a bit first about the screen room. It offers protection from insects and it is also fully covered. But the walls are only a screen and it is also without a floor. So the screen room is great for sitting and cooking, and you can use your camping furniture without being worried of damaging the floor.

The tent can be described as a cabin-type and it is also semi-instant. This means that the frame is pre-attached to the tent so setup is easy, officially it is 2 minutes. But the supporting poles for the screen room must be added separately, and also the fly is added when you raise the tent.

The inner space is with a divider so you have two rooms. Each of them has its own door from the screen room. Also, each of the inner rooms has 3 windows. An electric cable port is also available.

The poles are a combination of steel and fiberglass. The tent is perfectly ventilated with so much mesh and so many windows, but they have also added two floor vents.

The tent is officially for 9 people and its numbers are shown below:

This Core 11 Person Cabin Tent with a screen room is one of the best-known tents of this brand. It has been around for a number of years already. The tent is a 2-room configuration, and this includes the back room plus the screen room. The divider between the rooms is fully sewn in and with a zippered door.

The screen room is with a floor and you also have zippered panels on all sides. So it is completely protected and this is a real room with extra features so you can use it in any way you want.

Perhaps it is not clear from the picture, but this is a very tall and pleasant tent, you have 86.4 inches (219 cm) peak height here. The tent is huge, so the overall floor area is 204 square feet (18.96 m²), and its official capacity is 11 people.

It is nicely ventilated with its mesh around and on the ceiling, and they have also added floor vents, one is visible in the picture above. The frame is a combination of steel used for legs poles, and fiberglass used for the roof poles. Other features include an E-cable port, several wall pouches, and a gear loft.

Here are a few more numbers. The weight is 25 lb (11.3 kg), the dimensions are 17 x 12 ft (518 x 366 cm), and the packed size is 17 x 10 x 10 inches (43 x 25 x 25 cm).
