Coleman Living Collection

Here we review the Coleman Living Collection, a set of 5 nicely designed, easy-to-use folding camping furniture items.

This is not the first time that Coleman launches a collection, they have them several, including the Coleman Kompact Sleeping Bag Collection presented here in the site. There is also their Mantis Collection, etc.

So what is Coleman Living Collection

This is about a group of car camping products that you can use together and separately. They are nicely designed and you can use them at home as well. You have a cot, two chairs, a camping table, and a bench.

All of them are folding and this means easy to use and without any assembly. There are several sellers that offer these items, and on Amazon they sell them all at one place, but you can order separate pieces independently.

If you are new to this, then you should know that these are products from one of the best-known brands in the outdoor industry.

1. Coleman Living Collection Bench

This bench is the first of the items here for sitting. You will see that it shares some features with the chairs below. So the frame is made of aluminum tubes and the total capacity is 450 pounds (204 kg). This may look a lot but the bench is for two people. The dimensions are (L x W x H) ‎42.5 x 22.8 x 26.4 inches (108 x 58 x 67 cm).

Note that each of the users has a wood armrest on the side. The legs are U-shaped, and with such a design the bench can be used anywhere, it will not sink in the ground. These are tubes so the design is floor-friendly, and you can use it even in a floored tent.

The weight is 8.4 pounds (3.8 kg), so this is a truly light, easy to use folding bench. When folded, it becomes very thin, but it is a bit bulky, the folded size is ‎42.25 x 24 x 5 inches (107 x 61 x 13 cm).

What I like:

2. Coleman Living Collection Cot

This Coleman Living Collection Cot is a a bit unique construction. Its six legs are completely vertical but those at the two ends are reinforced with support bars. The frame is aluminum and there are a few steel reinforcement elements.

The cot folds in half its length and it also collapses widthwise, so the folded size is ‎38 x 7.75 x 5.75 inches (97 x 20 x 15 cm). It comes with a storage pouch visible in the picture, and there is also a carry bag included.

The dimensions when unfolded are (L x W x H) 74.8 x 24 x 15 inches (190 x 61 x 38 cm). It is not particularly large but there are no bars at the two ends. The weight is quite good 12.9 lb (5.85 kg). This cot is also in my list of best Coleman camp cots.

What I like:

• Compact when folded.
• Lightweight.
• Carry bag included.

What I dislike:

• Not really large.

3. Coleman Living Collection Flat Fold Chair

This Coleman Living Collection Flat Fold Chair looks really great with its aluminum frame and its wood armrests. It is lightweight with its 4.85 lb (2.2 kg), and the official capacity is typical 250 lb (113 kg).

The legs are so shaped that the chair can be used on any surface and it will not sink in the soft ground. There is no carry bag but the picture shows the padded part on the top bar, so this is a carry handle.

The overall dimensions are (L x W x H) 21.7 x 21.3 x 24 inches (55 x 54 x 61 cm). The seat is a bit low, but those wood armrests help getting in and out. When folded it becomes very thin, the dimensions are 22.24 x 21.26 x 3.35 inches (56 x 54 x 8.5 cm).

What I like:

• Wood armrests.
• Ease of use.

What I dislike:

• Bulky when folded.

4. Coleman Living Collection Sling Chair

I would start with the reclining design because this is a feature you cannot see in the picture above. So this Coleman Living Collection Sling Chair offers 3 backrest positions. Note also that the backrest is very high and this means you have a proper headrest as well.

The frame is the same material used in the other products here, so this is again a steel-reinforced aluminum. A very cool feature is its wood armrests. Note that it comes with a carry bag included.

This is one of those chairs that fold like an umbrella, so its folded dimensions are 36 x 9.7 x 6.5 inches (91 x 25 x 17 cm). The weight is 10.6 lb (4.8 kg) and the capacity is 250 lb (113 kg). Overall dimensions are (L x W x H) 27.2 x 23.6 x 38.6 inches (69 x 60 x 98 cm).

What I like:

• Reclining design.
• Headrest.
• Wood armrests.

What I dislike:

• A bit long when folded.

5. Coleman Living Collection Table

The Coleman Living Collection Folding Table has telescopic legs and it offers two heights. So you can use it as a dining table and as a side table. The frame is aluminum and the tabletop is wood. The weight is reasonable 12.5 lb (5.7 kg).

It is very easy to use and with a carry bag included. You fold it in half its width, so the folded size is 47.2 x 14.17 x 4.5 inches (120 x 36 x 11 cm). As you realize it is long when folded, but this is its actual length.

The overall dimensions when unfolded and in its higher setup are (L x W x H) 47.2 x 27.6 x 27.6 inches (120 x 70 x 70 cm). More tables of this brand are in my separate post Coleman camping tables.

Final thoughts

So you have seen it, this Coleman Living Collection includes several truly cool-looking functional and versatile products. With such a set you are completely equipped in the camp. But you do not have to buy them all, they are available as separate products, or you can choose any combination you need.

They are all easy to use and folding, so there is no assembly for any of them. Some come with carry bags. These are great products, so it is not surprising they are so popular.
