1. Coleman Instant 4 Person Camping Tent

This tent is here mainly because of its ease of use. By shape, it is a very typical cabin-type tent, but this is also an instant tent that you can have ready in under 1 minute. So it is very suitable for people who change place frequently and do not want to deal with poles all the time. The frame is pre-attached to the tent so you just unfold and extend its poles and the tent is ready.

It is a single-layer type, this is yet another feature behind its simplicity. The fly is integrated into the roof, but they sell a partial cover fly that you can order separately.

The area is relatively small, you have only 56 ft² (5.2 m²), and the dimensions are such that you can place four pads on the floor, the base measures 8 x 7 ft (2.44 x 2.13 m).

The tent is fully freestanding and with double-layer windows on all sides. Here are a few more numbers. The weight is 9.8 lb (4.45 kg), the peak height is 59 inches (1.5 m), and its packed size is 38 x 18 x 9.5 inches (97 x 46 x 24 cm).

This is an incredibly popular tent and it has been on the market for years already, tried and tested by many, so you know what you are buying.

2. Coleman Carlsbad 4 Person Tent

This Coleman Carlsbad 4 Person Tent is yet another from their most popular tents. From the picture you realize that it has a screen room or screened porch. This area is with the floor but it is not fully sealed. The screen is without panels and you have only partial coverage, so this space you can use for sitting while protected from flying insects.

But this is also one of their dark-rest. It blocks 98% of sunlight. The material is also reflective from the outside, and they claim that the heat is reduced by up to 11%.

As for the shape, obviously this is an extended dome-style tent and it is with what they call the fast pitch design. This means that the shock-corded poles are pre-attached to the hub element on the top.

Regarding the materials, you have a fly which is a polyester taffeta 75D. The floor is bathtub design and with patented corner welds. They use inverted seams design which they call the WeatherTec system with Polyguard fabric. The poles are fiberglass.

Here are some numbers. The weight is 7.96 lb (3.61 kg), the total dimensions are 11 x 9 ft (335 x 274 cm). The inner room measures 9 x 7 ft (274 x 213 cm), and the screen room 9 x 4 ft (274 x 122 cm).

You have the total area of 99 ft² (5.84 + 3.34 m²). The peak height is 4 ft 11 in (150 cm), and the packed size (L x D) is 24 x 6 inches (61 x 15 cm).

3. Coleman Camping Tent Skydome 4 Person with Screen Room

They have many tents in the Skydome series, and here is their 2-room tent suitable for a 3-season camping. As its name suggests, it has a front room that can be used as a screen room. But this same room is fully protected, and this means it is with a sealed floor and with panels on all its screens.

You have one large door visible in the picture. There are storage pouches on the wall, and an E-cable port is also available. The official setup time of this tent is only 5 minutes.

Here are some numbers you need. The weight is 16.8 lb (7.6 kg), and the overall dimensions are 10.5 x 8 ft (320 x 244 cm). The total area is 56 + 22 ft² (5.2 + 2 m²). The tent is quite low, its peak height is 4 ft 8 in (142 cm). The packed size is 24.5 x 9.5 x 9.5 inches (62 x 24 x 24 cm).

4. Coleman 4 Person Cabin Camping Tent with Screen Room

This tent is not really a cabin type, but the word Cabin in the title is the official part of its name. Strictly speaking, this is a tunnel type tent. They have it in two different versions related to the design of its screen room.

The version shown in the picture has the screen room which is fully protected under the fly. So this makes it a pleasant 2-room structure. You have three panoramic windows and one large door, and there is also an e-cable port.

It is supported with 4 loop poles and this is fiberglass. The fabric is their WeatherTec polyester with inverted seams as in all their tents. The floor is a polyethylene.

The total area with the screen room is around 88 ft² (8.2 m²), plus some space under the vestibule. It weighs 23 lb (10.4 kg). The peak height is 6 ft (183 cm), and the packed size (L x D) is only 26 x 10.5 inches (66 x 27 cm).

What I like:

• Compact size.

5. Coleman Tent Meadowood Air 4 Person

 

This Coleman Tent Meadowood Air 4 Person is a tunnel-type tent and they build it with inflatable beams and also with classic poles. The picture shows the version with the air beams.

You have a luxurious 3-room structure here with an inner tent that has a removable divider, plus a large living room in front of it. The inner sleeping area is what they call the BlackOut Bedroom technology. It officially blocks up to 99% of daylight.

The external shell fabric is a durable 75D polyester with a great waterproof rating of 4000 mm. The floor is a fully waterproof and sewn-in bathtub style polyethylene. Note that the inner tent has its own extra floor so there are two floors there, one upon another. You also have E-cable ports, plenty of wall pouches for storage, and a lantern loop.

This is a tall tent with the peak height of 78.74 inches (200 cm). There are 2 doors and several solid windows, one of the doors is with the drop-down barrier free design.

Here are a few more numbers. The weight is 43 lb (19.5 kg), and the floored area is 118 ft² (11 m²). So this is lots of space for 4 people, and the tent can easily accommodate at least 6 users. The packed size is 29.5 x 20.9 x 15 inches (78 x 53 x 38 cm). This tent is also in my list of best Coleman dark rest tents.
