Best Rated Nemo Sleeping Bags

Here you have my selection of the best rated Nemo sleeping bags built from top quality materials in a variety of sizes, temperature ratings, and with gender specific features.

When this is about outdoor sleeping, there are no many brands that can match Nemo. They build sleeping bags and sleeping pads, and this includes products for the trail and for camping.

In the case of sleeping bags for the trail, they are normally with a down insulation because this is about weight and packed size. So you will see some great examples here. But they have also synthetic options on the market, and you have them here in the list. Such synthetic bags may perform better in wet and dump conditions.

Yet another detail that is so typical for the Nemo brand is that they build gender specific sleeping bags, so you separate bags for men and for women. In addition to this, almost always you have several options regarding the temperature rating. This all is intended to shed the weight and bulk, this is why Nemo’s bags are so convenient for backpackers.

My list of best Nemo sleeping bags

So here is my list, the bags are ordered alphabetically:

As mentioned above, you always have several options regarding the size and temperature rating. But I shall focus on some specific example as a representative of a group of sleeping bags.

Typically, they sell them at the same place on Amazon. So, if I give a bag with 20 degrees rating, you will find it together with the bags of the same type with 30 and 50 degrees, and then in regular and long sizes, and also as versions for men and for women.

In other words, the bags in the short list here are just representatives of quite a number of bags with the same name. To see what I mean, just check the Nemo Tempo Sleeping Bag that has three options regarding the temperature, and these in R and L sizes, and these for men and for women. So you have many sleeping bags with the same name.

I hope you will love the products I present below, I choose only the best that is on the market, those that I can fully recommend, and present them here in the site. Just a heads up that as an associate of Amazon and other sellers, I may earn some commission from qualifying purchases of products bought via links on this page, at no additional cost for you.

1. Nemo Disco 15 Sleeping Bag for men & women

NEMO Disco 15 Sleeping Bag for men & women.

This is an award-winning design and the bag was unique when it appeared on the market. It comes with several patent-pending features that are now typical for this brand. Those include ThermoGills added on the chest for moderate venting, they are visible in the picture. It also has a blanket fold under the chin to tuck it around your shoulders and neck for more warmth.

This is one of Nemo sleeping bags with a spoon shape. The idea behind this profile is to offer more space and volume where it is needed. You also have an integrated pillow pocket.

As for materials, the insulation here is a down 650, they claim it is fluorocarbon-free, and this is a water-resistant Nikwax hydrophobic down. They also write it is 100% Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified.

The fabric is a 30D nylon ripstop DWR, and in the footbox you have 40D nylon ripstop waterproof OSMO DWR. The lining is 30D nylon taffeta DWR. Note that the footbox is waterproof and breathable.

My focus here is on the 15 degrees version, but they have it also as 30 degrees bag, and as R and L, and also as bags for men and for women. So the R version with its 15 F (-9 C) rating weighs 2 lb 11 oz (1.22 kg), and its packed size is (L x D) 18 x 9 inches (46 x 23 cm). Here are a few more numbers:

  • Length R: 78 in (198 cm).
  • Fit R: up to 6 ft (183 cm).
  • Shoulder/hip/knee girth R: 64/60/64 in (163/152/163 cm).
  • Packed volume R: 6.6 l.

So you see the difference in shoulder/hip/knee girths, this is its unique shape mentioned above. Please see a bit more in this video:

What I like:

  • Unique features.
  • Waterproof footbox.
  • Venting.
  • Great temperature rating.

What I dislike:

  • Price.

2. Nemo Jazz Duo 20-Degree Sleeping Bag

Nemo Jazz Duo 20-Degree Sleeping Bag.
Nemo Jazz Duo 20-Degree Sleeping Bag.

The name of this sleeping bag tells you that this is a double-wide bag. The picture shows what this Nemo Jazz Duo Sleeping Bag is about. They offer it as double regular and double luxury. But note that they have it also as a solo bag in two different sizes.

The dimensions of the regular double-wide bag are 78 x 58 inches (198 x 147 cm), and the luxury version measures 80 x 67 inches (203 x 170 cm). The weight of the regular size is 7 lb 9 oz (3.42 kg) and its official temperature rating is 20 F (-7 C). This makes it a true 3-season sleeping bag.

Regarding the materials, you have a synthetic insulation made of polyester staple fibers, this is what they call the Synthetic Stratofiber. This is a moisture-resistant material for warmth in all conditions. Because of this, the packed size is 31 x 14 x 14 inches (79 x 36 x 36 cm), so the bag is bulky.

The features include a removable integrated sheet, there are snap buttons for this purpose, and you can wash it. The picture shows its oversized hood. There are also integrated pad sleeves to keep the pad in place.

What I like:

  • Temperature rating.
  • Design.
  • Comfort.

What I dislike:

  • Price.
  • Packed size.

3. Nemo Sonic 800-Fill Down Sleeping Bag

Nemo Sonic 800-Fill Down Sleeping Bag.
Nemo Sonic 800-Fill Down Sleeping Bag.

This is a mummy-style sleeping bag designed for extreme conditions. So here you have two temperature options, both for very low temperatures 0 F (-18 C) and -20 F (-29 C). They also build it in three sizes as short, regular, and long.

The bag is full of features typical for this brand. So you have their award-winning design that allows for temperature regulation in variable mountain climates, and the Thermo Gills are an important part of it. This allows venting without letting cold air rush in.

The bag is with a stretch construction at the knees that makes it suitable for side sleeping. The number 800 in the name indicates its high quality hydrophobic down that is 100% Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified.

You also have a redesigned Toester waterproof/breathable footbox with an additional layer of synthetic insulation to reduce cold spots. This is a 40D nylon ripstop OSMO DWR. The shell fabric is a 20D nylon ripstop DWR, and the lining fabric is a 30D nylon taffeta DWR. Offset zipper creates a thermally efficient seal. Here are some numbers for the R size:

  • Weight: 3 lb (1.36 kg).
  • Packed size (L x D): 15.5 x 8 in (39 x 20 cm).
  • Temp rating: 0 F (-18 C).
  • Girth shoulder/hip/knee: 61/58/53 in (155/147/135 cm).
  • Fit: 6′ (183 cm).
  • Compressed volume: 7.7 l.

4. Nemo Tempo Sleeping Bag

Nemo Tempo Sleeping Bag.
Nemo Tempo Sleeping Bag.

This Nemo Tempo Sleeping Bag looks very similar to their Disco series. So indeed you have the spoon shape here too and some of the features unique to Nemo. The blanket fold feature is here, you see it as that yellow addition under the chin. But there are no ThermoGills here, and the shape is more relaxed.

But note that this is a synthetic sleeping bag, so the insulation is their premium Stratofiber synthetic insulation for the best performance in wet conditions. The bag has all the usual features for the best thermal efficiency, apart from the oversized blanket fold, you have a great hood, a draft tube along the zipper.

There is also an integrated pillow pocket, and the zipper is full length. Note that you can zip this bag with yet another bag and create a sleeping set for two.

You have separate 20, 35, and 50 F bags as R and L, and also separate gender options. Here are some numbers for the R size 20 F (-7 C) version:

  • Weight: 3 lb 10 oz (1.65 kg).
  • Packed size (L x D): 14 x 9 in (36 x 23 cm).
  • Fit: up to 6′ (183 cm).
  • Shoulder/hip/knee girth: 64/61/64 in (163/155/163 cm).
  • Packed volume: 9.2 l.

What I like:

  • The relaxed spoon-shaped profile.
  • Variety of options.
  • Pillow pocket.

What I dislike:

  • No ThermoGills.

5. NEMO Tango Duo Slim 30 Sleeping Bag

NEMO Tango Duo Slim 30 sleeping bag.
NEMO Tango Duo Slim 30 sleeping bag.

This is a double-wide sleeping bag, but it is truly ultralight with its 2 lb 10 oz (1.19 kg) of weight. There are several reasons for this, this is a sort of hybrid between a backcountry quilt and a rectangular bag.

The shell fabric is a very thin but strong 20-denier ripstop nylon shell, while the liner is 30-denier nylon taffeta, both water repellent (DWR) materials. The fill is a 650-fill-power RDS-certified hydrophobic treated down.

One more reason for such a weight is its backless design. You have a sleeve instead and you place a sleeping pad in it. There is also a Blanket Fold external draft collar that provides tucked-in comfort. The overall shape is slightly tapered for increased thermal efficiency. So with all this, you have a pad with an official temperature rating of 30 F (-1 C).

The bag fits users up to 72 inches (183 cm). Shoulder girth is 70 inches (178 cm). The packed size is around 15 x 8 inches (38 x 20 cm). It comes with an included compression stuff sack. This bag is also in my list of best double backpacking sleeping bags.

What I like:

  • Comfort.
  • Great packed size.
  • Down fill.
  • Weight.

What I dislike:

  • Works only with single-size pads.

Final thoughts

So this was my relatively short list of Nemo sleeping bags, but you realize that it includes plenty of options with more than 30 gender specific sleeping bags in various sizes and with different temperature ratings. These are top quality products from one of the best known outdoor brands, and they are built from the finest materials. This is reflected in the prices of course.

Some of the sleeping bags here are double-wide, but they also have solo versions for them. As for insulation, you can choose between down and synthetic. The former type is more expensive but it is lighter and less bulky, suitable for the trail.
