Best Double Wide Camping Cots

If you camp with your partner, you will want a camping bed for two, so check this list of best double wide camping cots, impressive products from the best-known brands.

In my previous texts, I presented the lists of best two-person sleeping pads and two-person sleeping bags. So here, I would continue with these outdoor sleeping items shared with your partner.

The two-person camping cots presented in the text will raise the comfort in the camp to another level. They will also raise you off the ground, so this is a way to stay separated from the cold and unpleasant surface underneath you. In the case of warm-weather camping, with such cots, you do not need a sleeping pad.

My list of best camping cots for 2 people

So here is my list, the cots are ordered by the width from narrower to wider:

 

There are several very different designs and concepts here in the list. Quite generally, you have i) folding and ii) collapsible cots. The difference is that the latter need some simple assembly. But you will see that there are differences in the content and versatility, enough options for everybody’s taste and budget.

1. Outsunny Two-Person Double Wide Folding Camping Cot

This cot is truly folding, it opens and closes in a simple move, you just grab the handle in the middle and pull it up. It packs into a relatively narrow tube. So its packed dimensions are (L x W x H) 38.2 x 5.9 x 7.5 inches (97 x 15 x 19 cm).

But in view of its position here in the list, you realize that it is not the largest double-wide cot to share with your partner. The bed dimensions are still quite good, it measures (L x W x H) 76 x 49.2 x 15.7 inches (193 x 125 x 40 cm). Observe that there are no bars on the head and feet side. To continue with numbers, the weight of this cot is 26.4 lb (12 kg), and its capacity is 440 lb (200 kg).

So you could describe it as lightweight and portable to shorter distances but this is a car-camping item of course. It is easy to use, there is no assembly. It comes with a nice carry bag.

The frame is steel, there are 9 feet on the ground so the weight is distributed, and it is with those diagonal X-shaped supporting bars for lateral stability. The fabric is a 600D (denier) oxford with a PVC coating.

What I like:

What I dislike:

• Not very wide.

2. KingCamp Double Camping Cot

This KingCamp Double Camping Cot offers no less than 84.6 x 55 inches (215 x 140 cm) of the bed size. Note also that it is quite tall, the clearance under the bed is 18.9 inches (48 cm). So this is a large bed in every sense, suitable even for very tall users. Observe that here too, you do not have end-bars, so all this length is the true useful length. The packed size is (L x D) 45.3 x 11.8 inches (115 x 30 cm).

The cot is folding and there is no assembly. The picture above shows the straps in the corners, this is to keep your double-wide sleeping pad in place. The cot comes with a carry bag equipped with wheels. You will need them because the weight is 35.3 lb (16 kg).

All places where you should grab to fold the cot are covered with flaps so you do not touch cold metal when you sleep on the cot. The 9 feet are with plastic caps, but I would not use it in a floored tent without some extra protection. The frame is steel and the fabric is with an extraordinary denier value 1200D. Officially, the capacity is quite modest, only 550 lb (250 kg).

3. Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Cot

This Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Cot Review is among the largest, you have the bed size 85 x 55 inches (216 x 140 cm). My double bed at home is this size, so I know exactly how large it is. Note also that the height is 19 inches (48 cm). But see also its great packed size, it measures only (L x D) 42 x 11 inches (107 x 28 cm). No doubt the cot is impressive in many ways.

The picture above shows its bonus mesh storage pocket underneath the bed. The head sections are lightly padded, and a carry bag is also included. There are no end bars here, just to know.

Regarding the materials, you have a steel frame and a 600D bed deck fabric, and its official capacity is 500 lb (227 kg) of weight. So this is again not so much for a couple but this should be fine for most users.

4. Coleman Queen Size Cot with Air Mattress

This Coleman Queen Size Cot is a bit special here in the list. This is an outdoor sleeping system that includes several elements. So you have a double-size camping cot that measures 78 x 59 x 22 inches (198 x 150 x 56 cm). You realize it is incredibly wide and also very tall.

But you also have an air mattress with an included zippered cover. This is not all, there are 2 side tables with cup holders, plus a pump included.

The official weight capacity is 600 lb (272 kg), quite typical as you realize from the cots presented above. This all is heavy, you have 42.8 lb (19.4 kg) of weight. But no worry, its carry bag is with wheels. The packed size (L x D) is 48 x 18 inches (122 x 46 cm). The frame is steel, with 9 legs and with many support bars. 5. Disc-O-Bed Large With Organizers

There is nothing on the market that could even remotely be a match for this camping cot. It is completely unique but thid does not mean that everything is perfect. So let me start with its less impressive features.

This is a collapsible system, and this means it needs assembly. It can take up to 30 minutes to have the system ready. There are two cots and they both pack separately, each in its own carry bag. The whole set weighs 63 lb (29 kg). For transportation, you have a bundle of 34 x 16 x 11 inches (86.4 x 40.6 x 27.9 cm).

But let’s see what it offers. So you have a bunk cot and you can use it as the picture shows. But you can use them both side by side, or completely independently. This is not all. You can use them as a bench as well. In other words, you have a set that could be described as 4-in-1. If this is not all, you have 2 bonus organizers included.

The bed dimensions are 79 x 27.75 inches (201 x 70.5 cm). This is the true length between the side and end bars. When used side by side, these two cots are the largest here in the list. For each of the cots, the official capacity is 500 lb (159 kg).

The frame is powder-coated, anti-rust steel, and the deck is a 600D polyester, the same material is used for the organizers. As you realize, the legs are floor-friendly. The bunk is quite low, you have only 36.5 inches (92.5 cm), so it fits easily in most family camping tents.

Final thoughts

So this was my list of best double wide camping cots, and I think you have a variety of options. But if you still need some help in choosing, here are some tips that might help.

Size

There are differences here, and this applies to both length and width. So if you are a very tall person you should check the length. But no worry, there are some really long cots here.

Weight

Some of the cots are quite heavy. This is helped a bit with the wheels that some of them have on their carry bag. But in any case, elderly users might want to bear this in mind.

Versatility

There is no doubt that the Disc-o-Bed is the most versatile of the cots here, but it is also heavy and expensive.

Price

Most of the cots in the list are really affordable, but there are differences. It makes sense to check, so please follow the links for updated prices.
