1. Coleman Cabin Tent with Instant Setup 10 Person

The name of this tent tells a lot about it. So you have straight and angled walls supported by a frame that is pre-attached to the tent. This is behind the word Instant in its name. The official setup time is 60 seconds. This is a tall structure, you have impressive 79 inches (201 cm) peak height here.

But this tent has far more features. Note that they built it from a very dark material, so this is a dark rest tent. They claim that it reduces the sunlight inside the tent by 90%. It has a removable divider inside so this is a 2-room tent.

The fly is designed to cover only the ceiling, so you have views around, and it attaches to the legs. This makes the tent fully freestanding. There are two doors and 5 windows. You might want to know that one of the two doors is a hinged door. This means that the door is with a frame created by poles that are in perimeter sleeves, so you do not have to wrestle with zippers all the time.

As for the capacity, it is officially for 10 people. For this you have an area of 140 ft² (13 m²), not much really. The packed size is 42 x 9 x 9 inches (107 x 23 x 23 cm). The overall dimensions are 14 x 10 ft (427 x 305 cm). The tent weighs 42 lb (19 kg).

The boxy and tall profile makes this tent best suited for calm weather and for summer camping. Though they claim it can withstand winds over 35 mph. It is included also in my list of best 10 person instant tents for camping.

2. Coleman WeatherMaster 10 Tent

When you check this tent on Amazon, you will see that it has received thousands of reports by users. So this is a incredibly popular tent and it has been on the market for years already, tried and texted by many people.

The tent is tunnel-type but the legs poles are straight and this gives it a shape that is like a cabin-style tent with straight walls. The peak height is 80 inches (203 cm). The fly is there to cover the ceiling only, this is why you have views around.

You have four separate windows plus two windows on its doors. The windows on the narrow sides of the tent are angled so that you can keep them with mesh almost all the time. One nice detail here is that you have a frame on one of the doors, so this is a hinged door, you can see it in the picture above.

The official waterproof rating is low, only 450 mm. The floor is a bathtub-style design. The main poles create 3 loops typical for a tunel tent, and this is a durable steel. The short brow poles above the side windows are fiberglass.

The weight is 31 lb (14.1 kg) and the floor area is 140 ft² (13 m²). The overall dimensions are 17 x 9 ft (518 x 274 cm), and the packed size is 30.3 x 10.2 x 10.2 inches (77 x 26 x 26 cm).

3. Columbia Mammoth Creek 10 Person Cabin Tent

The Columbia Mammoth Creek 10 Person Cabin Tent is the largest in their Mammoth Creek series. This is a 2-room freestanding tent with 2 doors visible in the picture. The tent has 4 separate windows plus 3 on the doors. With such steep and straight walls, and its 78 inches (198 cm) peak height, this is a very pleasant structure.

The tent is on the heavy side with its 40 lb (18.1 kg), and its area is 140 ft² (13 m²). The overall dimensions are 14 x 10 ft (427 x 305 cm), and its packed size is 29.5 x 9.8 x 9.8 inches (75 x 25 x 25 cm).

It is important to stress that the tent is nicely ventilated. You have a floor vent and lots of mesh on its windows and the large doors.  It is very suitable for summer and for warm weather camping.

As for the materials, you have fiberglass poles, and the fabric is a coated Omni-Shield design with advanced repellency. The floor is a bathtub-type polyester with a thick coating. You have an E-cable port as well.

4. CORE Lighted 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room

The CORE brand has two versions of their 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room, one is the lighted tent presented here and the other is without the light but with exactly the same features except for the color. The light system operates on 4D batteries or 5V and you have three different settings.

So this is a 3-room semi-freestanding and semi-instant tent. You have the inner sleeping area with a divider creating two rooms, plus a screen room visible in the picture above. Note that the screen room is without a floor, and the walls are only mesh. So this is a pleasant space for sitting in the shade without worrying about damaging the floor with chairs, and you can use it also for cooking.

There are 4 large windows and you also have an E-cable port. The entrance is through this screen area. The frame is pre-attached to the main part of the tent, but the support poles of the screen room must be added separately. This is why I describe it as semi-instant type.

The tent is very pleasant and tall, the peak height is 84 inches (213 cm). The area is 140 ft² (13 m²). It is heavy with 47.8 lb (21.7 kg) of weight, and the packed size is 49 x 16 x 11.5 inches (124 x 41 x 29 cm). The fly fabric is fly a 68D polyester and the floor is 115 g/m² polyethylene. The poles are steel.

5. NTK Arizona GT 9 to 10 Person Sport Camping Tent 

When you see the picture above you realize that this is a very unusual design. There is a section supported by crossed poles that create a dome, but there is also the front part in the picture that looks like a tunnel tent.

In any case, you have a shelter with 2 rooms and 2 doors, and the structure is long. The dimensions are 17.39 x 8.04 ft (530 x 245 cm). The floor area is 139 ft² (12.9 m²) so it is not so large for the official capacity. The weight is 26.45 lb (12 kg) and this makes it a lightweight tent.

You have a divider between the rooms that is with a central vertical zipper. The doors are asymmetric, the one that is not visible here is on the back narrow side of the tent. Both of them are huge.

What you also realize from the pictures is the fact that the tent is with a full-coverage fly. So this is a true double-layer tent. The inner tent has plenty of mesh areas for ventilation. The tent can be described as a true 3-season tent and with such a fly it will protect you in any weather conditions.

There are vents on the fly, and there are also windows on the fly, one is visible in the picture above. The fly also creates vestibules, they are with double zippers on the sides. This allows you to create an awning so you have a space for sitting.

A few words about materials. On the floor, you have a strong and durable material and it is bathtub style anti-fungus seamless polyethylene with an inner silver-coated layer. The tent body is 190T polyester laminated with polyurethane 2500 mm coating. The poles are shock-corded fiberglass with an improved diameter and double gold-plated ferrules.

Final thoughts

So this was my selection of the best camping tents for 10 people currently available on the market. You realize that none of them is really large, and this is because manufacturers use the backpacking principle to determine the capacity. The official capacity is measured by the number of sleeping pads that they can put on the floor.

On the other hand, you have some really interesting designs and some of the tents are among the most popular tents on the market in general.

How to choose? If this is about price, Coleman is usually the most affordable, and you have their representatives in the list here. On the other hand, if you want tents that are really easy to use, go for an instant setup tent. Setting up such a tent is easy even if one person does the job.

All of them are tall and mostly suitable for summer camping and for calm weather. But you have a nice 3-season tent with a full-coverage fly, which is my choice tent below.
