So the tent is very pleasant and with lots of volume and head space. But this is not all, you have two rooms here, and they build it in two variants, in one of them one of the rooms is in the style of a screen room.

As you realize from its name, this is a tent with integrated lights. But the tent is here because of its instant setup and its 10-person capacity. So you have a strong steel frame that is pre-attached and the tent is very easy to use. The area is 140 ft² (13 m²), and the overall dimensions are 14 x 10 ft (427 x 305 cm).

The tent comes with an E-cable port, a media pouch, and a gear storage system on the walls. The weight is reasonable for such a strong steel frame, the tent weighs 32.6 lb (14.8 kg). The panels can be kept open and this is how you can regulate the amount of daylight in the tent.

The official setup time is less than 2 minutes. The tent is with two doors and with 8 windows, there is a removable divider inside so this is a 2-room construction. Each of the rooms has its own entrance.

This Outdoor Products 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent is a freestanding 2-room structure supported by a steel frame that is pre-attached to the tent and with telescopic legs poles. So as usual with such tents, it is very easy to use. The official setup time is 2 minutes.

The tent is pleasant with its 7 windows and no less than 3 doors. Note that it comes with an extended eave technology so the windows and the doors are partly protected under its minimal fly. The mentioned frame includes 6 legs plus 7 roof poles. The tent is ventilated, there is one floor vent, and you also have an E-cable port.

This Coleman Cabin Tent with Instant Setup 10 Person is what its name says, a tent with straight walls as typical for a cabin type structure. Though the walls are quite angled and this reduces the overall volume. But the tent is a tall structure, you have impressive 79 inches (201 cm) peak height here so the angled walls are not a big deal.

The frame is pre-attached to the tent, and this is behind the word Instant in its name. The official setup time is 60 seconds. This is remarkable for such a high and large tent that offers an area of 140 ft² (13 m²).

There are more great features here. They built this tent from a very dark material, so this is also a dark rest tent. They claim that it reduces the sunlight inside the tent by 90%. This is why it is included also in my list of best dark rest camping tents.

The tent comes with a removable divider and it is formally a 2-room tent. The fly covers only the ceiling, this is why you have views around, and it attached to the legs. This also makes the tent fully freestanding so you can move it short distances and rotate.

With two doors and 5 windows this is a very pleasant camping tent. Note that one of the two doors is a hinged door. The meaning of this is that the door is with a frame created by poles in its perimeter sleeves. So you do not have to wrestle with zippers all the time, but they are available of course. Because of this, the tent is also in my list of tents with a hinged door system.

Here are a few numbers. The packed size is 42 x 9 x 9 inches (107 x 23 x 23 cm), the overall dimensions are 14 x 10 ft (427 x 305 cm), and the weight is 42 lb (19 kg). As for the best use, in view of its boxy and tall profile, it is best suited for calm weather and for summer camping. But note that they claim it can withstand winds over 35 mph.

5. CORE Lighted 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room

This CORE tent is very pleasant and tall, the peak height is 84 inches (213 cm) and its area is 140 ft² (13 m²). It is here because of its 10 person capacity and because of its instant (or semi-instant) setup design. This means that the frame is pre-attached to the main part of the tent, but the support poles of the screen room must be added separately.

But this is also a lighted tent and its light system operates on 4D batteries with three different settings. The tent is a 3-room semi-freestanding construction. You have an inner sleeping area with a divider creating two rooms, plus a screen room that is visible in the picture above.

The screen room is without a floor, and the walls are only mesh so you do not have full protection here. This is a pleasant space for sitting in the shade and you can use camping chairs without worrying about damaging the floor. This space you can use also for cooking.

There are 4 large windows and the entrance is through this screen area. You also have an E-cable port. The tent is heavy with 47.8 lb (21.7 kg) of weight, and its packed size is 49 x 16 x 11.5 inches (124 x 41 x 29 cm).

As for the materials, the fly fabric is fly a 68D polyester and the floor is 115 g/m² polyethylene. The poles are all steel.

Final thoughts

So this was my selection of best 10 person instant tents for camping. Although their floor area is more or less the same, they still have a variety of some very useful features. Those include integrated lights, dark rest design, screen room, etc., so you have some really good options to choose from.

What size tent do I need for 10 people?

All these tents have the official capacity based on the number of sleeping pads that can be placed on the floor. In this view, no doubt, all of them are the 10-person tents. But this is a backpacking principle and it makes no much sense for large family camping tents.

These tents can indeed accommodate 10 friends at some summer festival. But for real family camping or camping in general, the declared capacity should be downgraded.
